Care Advice: Cleansing Your Face At
fifteen I attended my first modelling classes. I was instructed
on a regimen for cleansing my face which I still follow, with very
little variation, to this day.
1. CLEANSE
nightly with a cream cleanser to remove makeup and surface dirt.
Use a soft cloth and lots of hot water.
2. STEAM -- use a soft cloth
and lots of hot water. Steam is vital to clean healthy skin, it
opens the pores to release the impurities.
3. EXFOLIATE or follow with
a foaming cleanser or soap for a deeper clean. .
4.
FINISH WITH TONER or astringent depending on skin type
and personal preference. I recommend a non-alcoholic toner particularly
for dry skin types.
5. MOISTURIZE - Complete your
nightly regimen by applying eye cream to the delicate areas around
the eyes. Apply night cream to your face and throat. Moisturizer
is important no matter what your skin type.
6. MORNING - In the morning
it is necessary only to steam your face with a washcloth and hot
water, apply toner, and a light moisturizer for day-time use. Reapply
eye cream if desired.
Moisturizer serves a dual purpose. It seals in the skins natural
oils and provides a smooth surface for the proper application of
makeup.
Work this all into your daily/nightly routine and you'll find you
have smoother, softer-looking skin with just a few minutes of effort
each day.
