Savour your food!
You've heard the old adage about chewing your food 20 times before swallowing. I think it is supposed to aid your digestion, or something like that.

I don't really know, but the benefit I see is that it forces you to eat more slowly.

It takes about 15 - 20 minutes after you begin eating for the digestive process to work and you begin to feel satiated.

Hence, if you want to eat less, eat more slowly. If counting to 20 is what it takes to make that happen, then fine.

Personally I would think counting would take

the pleasure out of the meal. Instead, think of eating slowly as savoring your food. Take the time to really taste it. Roll it around in your mouth, examine the taste, the texture, before swallowing.

I'm not claiming this is part of some miracle weight-loss program, but if you combine it with other healthy eating habits, it certainly won't hurt you.
